Winter 2012 Operation Round Up Grants

The Dubois Volunteer Fire Dept. received a $1,110 grant to purchase additional safety cones for use at accident scenes, driver safety courses, downed power lines and other emergency response situations
Ireland (Madison Township) Volunteer Fire Dept. received a $4,671 grant to replace the generator on a pumper truck and replace the lighting on a first responder truck.

Haysville Community Volunteer Fire Dept. received a $1,114 grant to purchase water rescue equipment for land based rescue. The equipment will include personal floatation devices and throw bags for four rescuers and two victims and/or extra rescue personnel.

A Kid’s Place received a $3,050 grant to purchase 20 tricycles for preschool students. Part of the grant will also be used to replace the tires on a 6-wheeled buggy used to transport 1-year olds on walks in the park.
Tri-County YMCA received a $1,000 grant to provide financial assistance for families, youth and seniors who cannot afford to participate in the YMCA’s programs. The YMCA will not turn away anyone for inability to pay for YMCA membership or programs.
American Legion Auxiliary received an $1,800 grant to help fund the Girls State program. The week-long experience allows girls to develop leadership skills, learn about our system of government and their unique rights, privileges and responsibilities as a U.S. citizen.
