Touchstone Energy Camp

Over the past 14 years, Touchstone Energy® Camp has educated over 1,000 sixth grade students about how to stay safe around electricity, while also providing campers a chance to enjoy a wide variety of outdoor camp activities. The 2017 Touchstone Energy® Camp, was held held June 7-10, at Camp Tecumseh in Brookston, Ind. Dubois REC sponsored the following students for the 2017 event: Kendall Buechler from Dubois Middle School, Lydia Betz and Kale Brames from Cedar Crest Intermediate School, Kendall Krohn, Taryn Schmitt and Karissa Weisman from Jasper Middle School. Dubois REC's Matt Brames (far right) attended the camp as a chaperone.

Campers participated in traditional outdoor camp activities, such as horseback riding, zip lining and swimming, while also experiencing interactive lessons about safe electricity, working together in teams in a hands-on equipment connecting simulation, and wiring a table top demo to light up a bulb.

Applications are posted hear each year, and accepted in early Feb.
