How Power is Restored

During an outage, Dubois REC employees work hard to get the power back on. To see a map of current outages, click here

Watch the video below to understand the process of getting power restored to all our members, in the quickest, safest manner possible.

Tree Trimming

At Dubois REC we strive to balance maintaining beautiful surroundings and ensuring a reliable power supply by keeping power lines clear in rights of way (ROW). The overall goal of our vegetation management program is to provide reliable power to our members while maintaining the beauty of our community. For more information please click on the diagram below.

Right Tree Right Place

When selecting a tree to plant, it’s crucial to consider its height, width, growth rate, and shape, especially regarding nearby power lines. Trees that grow too tall can obstruct electrical lines, leading to safety hazards and costly maintenance. Opt for species that maintain a manageable size and have a suitable growth habit. A thoughtful choice today can prevent issues tomorrow, ensuring a harmonious balance between nature and infrastructure. Happy planting!

Who Owns What?
