Returned Check Fee

When a check received in payment of a member’s account is returned unpaid by the bank for any reason (not the fault of Dubois REC), the member shall be assessed a handling charge of $25.00 for each check returned.

Collection Fee

If it shall become necessary to visit a member’s premises solely to collect or attempt to collect a delinquent amount due, the member shall be charged $25.00 for each visit.

Reconnect Fee

Whenever a service has been disconnected for any reason, payment of a standard service charge will be a condition of reconnection. If the reconnection can be scheduled for normal working hours, the charge shall be $35.00. For seasonal loads that are slight and irregular, a $100.00 reconnection fee, plus up to twelve months unbilled service charges had the service not been disconnected, will be charged when service is reconnected to the same customer at the same location.

Reconnection Fee After Hours

Whenever a service has been disconnected for any reason, payment of a standard service charge will be a condition of reconnection. Upon member request, reconnection may be scheduled other than normal working hours, the charge shall be $100.00. Seasonal loads will only be reconnected during normal working hours.

Temporary Service

Dubois REC may provide temporary meter units consisting of a meter, meter base and outdoor breaker panel to be used for new home construction. The use of the temporary unit is limited to one year. The rental fee shall be a one-time charge of $100.
